Digital Scrapbooking – Basic Supplies

A lot of you are wondering what does it take to get started with Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio.  I suggest you go slow and adopt a color theme and simply stick to it.

Here’s my all time basics that I suggest to students interested in getting into the Digital Scrapbooking / Card Making World:

  1. Paper Cutter that has both a scoring tool and a cuting tool.  Stampin’ Up!’s paper cutter and scoring tool  is my favorite.
  2. Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips for cutting paper creatively.
  3. Stampin’ Up! Whisper White or Very Vanilla 8 1/2″ by 11″ Cardstock Pack.
  4. Stampin’ Up! Snail Adhesive Dispenser and refills.
  5. Tombow Liquid Glue
  6. Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals
  7. Gelly Roll Stardust Clear Pen- it’s fun!
  8. Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio 2.0 Software
  9. Stampin’ Up! Afternoon Daydream Digital Download Kit or any kit that suits your family’s personality!

Money Saving Tips:

  1. You can actually download free fonts and make your own words and sayings using word processing tools like Microsoft Word or Apple’s Pages for iMac or even My Digital Studio 2.0.
  2. Buy Whisper White Grossgrain ribbon and dye it to the color you desire using the reinkers from Stampin’ Up!
  3. Save buttons that fall off your blouses etc.  If you are throwing away clothes – save the buttons to make interesting embellishments.
  4. You can use a Simply Scrappin’ Kit to make about 18-20 cards. I like using the Afternoon Day dreams kit and here’s a website where you can get the recipes for the 18-20 cards: http://www.jansstampingcreations.com/2012/09/5-afternoon-daydream-simply-scrappin-kit-and-one-sheet-wonder-technique.html
  5. Become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!  You save quite a bit on supplies and you have fun!
