Fast and Fabulous – Let’s make a purse from a cupcake!

Oooh my last Fast and Fabulous card featuring the cupcake builder punch… can YOU spot where I used the cupcake shape for a purse!  How fun is that… spiff it up with a little bit of a lace doilie and strap on linen thread for the handle and you are really stylin’ now!

If you take the body of the cupcake builder punch and use it to make a stylin purse (turn the cupcake holder portion upside down!), you can then embellish with a little bling – rhinestones and lace doilies for a really cute purse!

This card took no more than 15 minutes to make:

1. Cut whisper white cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″… fold in half (5 1/2″) so that you have a vertical card.

2. Cut whisper white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and using the Hexagon embossing Folder, emboss the cardstock.

3. Punch your cupcake bottom (the purse) using the cupcake builder punch and your favorite designer paper (I used the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from Spring catalog)

4. Embellish to your heart’s content – I used the lace doilies in the Spring Catalog!

5. Snip I piece of linen thread and affix to purse to make a purse handle…

6. Assemble the card:

– Center the 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed cardstock onto the card using snail adhesive.

– Punch a 2 1/2″ circle in the front of the card.

– affix the purse to the inside of the card where the 2 1/2″ circle has been cut so that the purse is peeking out of the card.

– Punch a scallop and then punch a 2 1/2″ circle inside the scallop shape to make a scallop frame.

– affix the scallop frame to punched out circle to frame it!

– attach a pretty bow to the bottom of the scallop frame – I used the crumb cake satin ribbon…

7. Pick out your card saying and stamp it on whisper white cardstock and punch out using desired punch shape.  Affix to inside of card below purse using stampin dimensionals.

Inkspirations:

– make a bunch of purses and keep in your stash of embellishments when you need to make a quick card.

Blessings… I hope YOU can try to make this one… it was quick and fun!
