Fast and Fabulous – Ice Cream Social

Remember back in your childhood when there were Ice Cream Socials at your school.  Ooooh how I labored to wait for that event!  In my family ice cream was taken very seriously… you had vanilla, pistachio, chocolate, peppermint, strawberry cheese cake… oh I can just taste them now … can you?  Here’s a really yummy card that will really get your taste buds going and going and going…  good thing this one is zero calories!

If you look just above the Happy Birthday Saying from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set, you will see I added a very feminine touch… I sponged a piece of delicate paper doilies to act as a cone holder… oh yummy…

You can take the top of the cupcake builder punch and use it to make creamy ice cream scoops and don’t forget to add a bit of razzle dazzle with the cherry from the cupcake builder punch.

This card took no more than 15 minutes to make:  (We all have 15 minutes)

1. Cut whisper white cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″… fold in half (5 1/2″) so that you have a vertical card.

2. Cut whisper white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing Folder, emboss the cardstock.

3. Punch your cupcake top (the creamy ice cream scoops) using the cupcake builder punch and your favorite designer paper (I used the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from Spring catalog) (I also used whisper white with a sponge dauber around edges)

4. Punch your cherry using the cupcake builder punch and your favorite designer paper (I used the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from Spring catalog)

5. Cut a triangle out of designer series paper – you can make the top of the triangle slightly less wider than the cupcake top you punched out in step 3.

6. Sponge a paper doily and wrap around triangle to make your cone.

7. Put together the ice cream cone by stacking the cupcake tops onto the cone.  Be C R E A T I V E… you don’t have to stack your ice cream scoops as nicely as I did!  Top the ice cream with a cherry and a sparkly rhinestone to add glam.

8. Attach a bow to the ice cream cone – I used the dreamy Pink Pirouette 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon.

9. Assemble the card:

– Center the 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed cardstock onto the card using snail adhesive.

– affix the yummy ice cream cone to the embossed cardstock using stampin dimensionals.  Make sure you center this onto embossed cardstock.

10. Pick out your card saying and stamp it on whisper white cardstock and punch out using desired punch shape or cut out using paper snips.  Affix to card using stampin dimensionals.

– make a bunch of Ice Cream Cones and keep in your stash of embellishments when you need to make a quick card.

– use the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz ® on your ice cream scoops to add a little glam.

Blessings… I hope YOU can try to make this one… it was quick and fun!
