Fast and Fabulous – Cupcake Builder Punch by Stampin’ Up!

Weight Watchers has certainly got me craving cupcakes… so I thought I would make a few “calorie free cupcake cards” and wow are they are as sweet as can be!  This upcoming week I am going to show you how to take the cupcake builder punch and make some really fast and fabulous cards!  We made these cards at my monthly Stamp-a-sack workshop.

If you take the body of the cupcake builder punch and use it to make a spiffy gondola, you can then use a circle punch with your favorite embellishments to make the balloon… connect the two shapes with your favorite ribbon and you have a card that makes you want to jump right into the Gondola!

This card took no more than 15 minutes to make:

1. Cut whisper white cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″… fold in half (5 1/2″) so that you have a vertical card.

2. Cut whisper white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and using the Square Lattice embossing Folder, emboss the cardstock.

3. Punch your cupcake bottom (the gondola) using the cupcake builder punch and your favorite designer paper (I used the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from Spring catalog)

4. Punch your balloon using the 2 1/2″ circle punch and your favorite designer paper (I used the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from Spring catalog)

5. Punch a small hole in the middle of the balloon (circle shape) usind the 1/16″ circle handheld punch.

6. Punch a small circle using the itty bitty shapes circle punch.  I used the same color as the gondola to match.

7. Embellish the balloon by using a designer builder brad from our spring catalog.

8. Attach the balloon to the Gondola by using your favorite narrow ribbon – I used the regal rose 1/8″ taffeta ribbon.

9. Attach a bow to the Gondola basket.

10. Punch the clouds using the cupcake builder punch (cupcake top)… I punched out three and sponged them lightly with pool party ink and a sponge dauber.

11. Assemble the card:

– Center the 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed cardstock onto the card using snail adhesive.

– Scatter the clouds onto the embossed cardstock using snail adhesive.

– affix the Hot Air Balloon to the embossed cardstock using stampin dimensionals.  Make sure one of the clouds looks like it is behind the Hot Air Balloon.

12. Pick out your card saying and stamp it on whisper white cardstock and punch out using desired punch shape.  Affix to card using stampin dimensionals.

Inkspirations:

– make a bunch of Hot Air Balloons and keep in your stash of embellishments when you need to make a quick card.

– use the really cute Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (it is a bunch of clouds!) instead of he square lattice embossing folder.

Blessings… I hope YOU can try to make this one… it was quick and fun!
