Fun Fridays: Let’s Celebrate using My Digital Studio Brush Layers!

It’s F-r-i-d-a-y and it’s time to have a little fun with My Digital Studio and Brush Layers!  Did you know that you can color in the inside of a stamp using a MDS tool called Brush Layers.  It is simple and you don’t have to be perfect because the black lines of the stamped image will cover it up!  Here’s how to do this in three easy peasy steps!

Now you try creating:

Color Scheme: 2012-2014 In Colors: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Neutrals: River Rock and Early Espresso, Regals: Riding Hood Red

Digital Stamp: Under the Big Top

MDS Tool: Stamp, Freeform – Add Brush Layer

Step 1: Using the Stamp Option, select the Under the Big Top – Bear Stamp and stamp it onto your MDS work area.  {I left the background whisper white so that I can see what I am doing}

Step 2: Using the Free Form Option, select the Add Brush Layer and MDS will add a new layer to the project right on top of the stamped image.  Start Coloring by selecting the color and brush size and color in the image.  You don’t have to be perfect and you can use the eraser when you make a mistake.

Step 3: Using the Order Option, Send the Brush Layer which has the coloring from Step 2 on it, to the back.  Voila – the black lines hide any sloppiness and it looks good 🙂

Take it up a notch: Go back into your brush layer and select the circle brush and add polka dots to the bear’s skirt!
